// Toumani Diabaté
Born to a family of griots with 70 generations of musicians and storytellers, Toumani Diabaté has become one the most important Malian musicians today. His exquisite playing of the 21-stringed Kora has led to collaborations with diverse artists such as Taj Mahal, Peter Gabriel, and Spanish flamenco group Ketama. His 2005 album, In The Heart of the Moon, with the late great Ali Farka Touré, won him a Grammy Award.
